TOEFL, which stands for Test of English as a Foreign Language is another English proficiency test, which is used by students or professionals belonging to areas of the world where English is not a native language to establish their competence in the language. TOEFL Institute tests the candidates on four levels: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The scores are given on the scale of intermediate to advance. The module has 3-5 comprehensive passages, which the candidates are required to read aloud and then answer the questions on the basis of reading. Listening module is used to determine the understanding capability of candidates since medium of instruction in academic institutions in English speaking countries is naturally English. The test consists of passages which are played aloud and candidates are supposed to answer the questions on the basis of listening of the passages. In the speaking section, first of all an interview is conducted where candidates are asked to express their opinions about certain issues and then they are given a passage which students have to read and explain. Writing skills in English language is another indispensable requirement since the examinations and assignments in universities and other academic institutions are to be submitted in English. In this module, candidates are asked firstly to read two passages and write how the two are inter related and in a separate section, they are required to write an essay on one of the topics provided to them.
